Cats Haven is a cat rescue located in Indianapolis, Indiana, roughly 2 miles southwest of the city, within Marion County, where 17 other animal shelters and rescues also operate. It is Indianapolis's oldest non-profit, no-kill, free-roaming feline sanctuary, having served the Central Indiana community for over 31 years with a focus on long-term care for special needs and elderly cats. On average, more than 300 cats are part of the sanctuary's network, spanning feral colonies, foster homes, and the shelter house itself, and the organization operates solely on donations, receiving no state or federal funding. Its mission is to provide a mostly cage-free, life-long, safe, and loving environment for special needs and senior cats while educating the public on their care and on the importance of spaying and neutering.
