Adoption Process

Before scheduling an in-home visit with one of our state-licensed foster homes, prospective adopters must submit an application. Adoption fees begin at $65. This fee covers the cost of having the pet altered, up-to-date vaccinations and deworming, treatment for fleas and ear mites, and a complimentary wellness visit with one of our three participating veterinarians. A contract is required to finalize the adoption. Please note that we do not ship animals and only facilitate adoptions within a two-hour radius of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a dedicated group of independent rescuers and cat enthusiasts. We focus on caring for kittens that are too young to thrive in traditional shelter settings, those requiring additional socialization, and Siamese and Maine Coon mixes. In response to the high rates of cat euthanasia in shelters and the plight of stray cats, we advocate for spaying and neutering as well as responsible pet ownership. Our mission is to facilitate lasting matches between adopters and cats or kittens. We offer a variety of animals, including those that are friendly with dogs and children, as well as special needs kittens and cats.
