About this shelter

Barking Dog Farm Rescue in Croydon, NH

We are a group of local women who have previously volunteered with various organizations. Our shared passion for dogs and cats, particularly Great Pyrenees, drives our mission. We assist local strays and owner surrenders while collaborating with a network of southern rescue partners. Nothing brings us more joy than witnessing a discarded or unwanted animal thrive in a loving home where it is treated as a cherished family member.

Adopting from Barking Dog Farm Rescue

Adoption process

Our approach to pet adoption focuses on finding the best match for each animal rather than adhering to a first-come, first-served policy. The adoption process includes several steps: we begin by reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, and contacting landlords when necessary. We also reach out to the applicant's veterinarian to assess the care of any previous pets and call two personal references. Additionally, we conduct a virtual or in-person home visit and arrange a meet-and-greet with all family members. If everything proceeds positively, an adoption contract will be signed. The adoption fees are as follows: $100 for cats, $175 for kittens, $450 for adult dogs, and $500 for puppies. Our cats are adopted with the stipulation that they will be kept as indoor pets only. Since we primarily have Great Pyrenees and Pyrenees mixes, we strongly recommend that adopting families have fenced yards, no apartments, and experience with strong, dominant breeds.
