Kizzy's Place Inc

Kizzy's Place was established in September 2015, inspired by a cat named "Skidz" from the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter. This unfortunate cat had been injured in an accident and was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. He faced euthanasia unless a rescue could step in to help. When no other rescues were available, we took action ourselves. With offers of financial support for his care, a foster home, and transportation to veterinary services, we successfully saved his life. He was renamed Kizzy and lived with our founder and Director, Blake Martin, until he passed away in the fall of 2019. Kizzy's story remains the driving force behind our mission, and we honor his legacy through our work. Since our inception, we have rescued over 1,000 animals in the South Jersey and Philadelphia area. As a small, foster-based rescue, this accomplishment is remarkable and something we take great pride in. Our focus is on caring for sick, scared, injured, and forgotten animals, which has earned us the affectionate nickname "The Island of Misfit Cats," a title we embrace wholeheartedly. Our mission is straightforward: to provide care for these neglected animals and help them find their forever homes when they are ready. We are entirely volunteer-run and funded by donations, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our mission and those who have opened their homes to our animals.
