Adoption Process

All prospective adopters must complete an adoption application. We conduct verification of personal and veterinary references, as well as a home visit and a meet-and-greet with our rescued dogs. Please note that we do not have a physical location. Meet-and-greets can be arranged at local adoption events, the potential adopter's home, or the foster home.

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue in Cliffwood, NJ

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization located in Central New Jersey. Our mission focuses on the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and puppies in urgent need. We primarily rescue canines from high-kill shelters and place them in foster care until we can find them permanent homes. Our operations are funded by donations from the public, which are essential to our work. We prioritize raising awareness about the plight of pets, as we believe this is crucial to preventing the euthanasia of millions of animals each year. In addition to our primary mission, we engage in various community initiatives and educational programs. These include offering guidance on pet care, advocating for the importance of spaying and neutering, hosting school presentations and community meetings on animal care, and providing junior volunteer opportunities for youth aged 10 and older to earn community service hours. We also support families facing temporary financial hardships by providing options that help them keep their pets. This includes temporary foster care, assistance in finding pet-friendly housing, and supplying food and other essential items for their pets. Furthermore, we offer training and rehabilitation for rescue dogs and provide support for families who wish to surrender their pets due to manageable issues.
