Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the submission of an application to our organization. An adoption coordinator is assigned to process the application, which includes conducting interviews and following up on references. After gathering this information, the coordinator prepares a summary of the application and presents it to the group for a vote on the applicant's adoption status. If the applicant is approved to adopt through our organization, they can select a cat or kitten to adopt. Once the foster parent approves the selected animal, the process continues. The applicant will then submit an adoption agreement and make a donation. Finally, the adopter can either pick up the cat or kitten or choose to have it delivered. The adoption is then considered complete.

OMC! (Only Maine Coons Rescue) is a nonprofit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3). We are entirely volunteer-operated and focus specifically on rescuing Maine Coon cats and their mixes from shelters and other challenging situations. Occasionally, we also rescue purebred Maine Coons, which are registered with official documentation. All of our cats receive loving care in foster homes until they are placed in their forever homes. While we cannot guarantee the exact Maine Coon percentage in each rescued cat, we assure you that every "Coonie" accurately represents the breed's characteristics. Our dedicated team works collaboratively to facilitate adoptions as swiftly as possible, ensuring a joyful outcome for both the cats and their new families.
