Adoption Process

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption offers an adoption process aimed at finding loving homes for our adoptable pets. Our facility is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, 11 AM to 3 PM, and we encourage you to come meet our available dogs and cats. Please note that many of our animals are in foster homes. To find out if a specific pet is at our facility, please call 770-272-6888. If your application is approved, we can arrange meet-and-greet sessions and adoptions for pets in foster care. Due to staffing limitations following the pandemic, there may be instances when we are unable to conduct meet-and-greets or process applications immediately. To begin the adoption process, we recommend submitting an application through our website. Our adoption counselors are available to assist you in finding the perfect match for your family. For adoption information, please be aware that appointments are required for approved applicants. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please fill out an application on our website. Given the high volume of applications we are currently receiving, processing may take longer than usual. We appreciate your patience, and an adoption counselor will contact you as soon as possible. Please allow 48 hours for a response before following up. If you do not find a suitable dog or cat on our website, we still encourage you to submit an application. We receive a significant number of animals each week, and many are matched with approved applicants before they appear online. Our adoption counselors are dedicated to helping you find the right pet for your family. For specific questions about our adoptable animals, you may also call 770-272-6888 or email [email protected]. Our adoption process includes an interview, reference checks, and a signed contract. Applicants must be 21 years or older. We take great care in ensuring that each animal is placed in an appropriate home. The adoption fee for dogs is $299, which includes essential veterinary care such as spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, microchipping, and heartworm testing for dogs one year and older. We also cover treatment for any heartworm-positive dog adopted through us. For cats, the adoption fee is $175, which covers spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, and FeLV/FIV testing. For more details about adopting a new companion, please visit our website. Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, primarily run by dedicated volunteers.
