Adoption Process

Our adoption process begins with an online application. Once the application is approved, we evaluate several factors, including the potential adoptee's home environment, veterinary history, the dog's personality and needs, age, personal references, landlord approval (if applicable), and a paid deposit for those who do not own their residence. The adoption fee varies, ranging from $150 for dogs over 12 years old or with special needs, to $475 for puppies.

Service Areas

Our primary service area is Florida, though we also have a location in Illinois. While we do not provide transportation services, we are able to facilitate adoptions to out-of-state individuals, provided that the adopter is able to pick up the pet at one of our locations.

We are a volunteer-based, foster home-oriented dachshund rescue organization located in Central Florida, although we also operate in other states as foster opportunities arise. We do not maintain a physical shelter; instead, we rely on our network of foster homes, as well as online platforms such as Facebook and other social media, and participation in adoption events and expos. Our mission is to provide the best possible care for the dachshunds that enter our rescue, ensuring they receive love, socialization, and the necessary veterinary care while they await their forever homes. Our passion for dogs, especially dachshunds, drives our commitment to this cause.
