Adoption Process

Adoption fees range from $150 to $450, depending on the dog's breed, origin, and medical needs. The adoption process begins with submitting an application. Our administrative team reviews the application for initial approval or denial based on general criteria. After this, the application is forwarded to the foster or adoption coordinator for the specific dog, who will review it and contact you to schedule a home visit, meet and greet, or in-person interview. It is essential for both you and the dog to find a suitable match. These steps are typically conducted simultaneously to streamline the adoption process and minimize waiting time for applicants. Following this, we make a final decision on approval or denial. If approved, an adoption contract will be sent to you for completion, along with the arrangement for the adoption fee. Please note that adoption requirements may vary depending on the individual dog or cat.

Service Areas

All of Central Florida is eligible for adoption with an approved application. This includes areas from Tampa, St. Petersburg, Brandon, and Sarasota to Orlando, Kissimmee, Sanford, and Clermont. Generally, we do not approve applications from locations more than two hours away from either Tampa or Orlando. To adopt any of our animals outside of these areas, we require an approved application along with a request and referral from a member of our rescue group, such as an administrator, foster, or previous adopter.
