Adoption Process

Prospective adopters are required to complete an application, after which a veterinary check will be conducted to ensure that any previous or current pets have been properly vetted and are on preventative care. An adoption contract will be signed, along with an addendum if necessary. It is mandatory for all adopted animals to remain on heartworm and flea preventatives, have their vaccinations kept up to date, and for puppies, proof of spaying or neutering must be provided within the time frame specified in the contract.

Service Areas

Our service areas include Broward County, Palm Beach County, and Miami-Dade County in Florida, with a focus on Southeast Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and the Palm Beaches.

Shepherd Help and Rescue Effort, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, FL

SHARE has been dedicated to rescuing and rehoming German Shepherd Dogs and GSD mixes in Southeast Florida for five years. The dogs we assist come from municipal pounds and from owners who can no longer care for them. Our volunteers are driven by their passion for the breed, a commitment to promoting spaying and neutering, and a desire to educate the public about the exceptional qualities of these dogs. All of our volunteers work on a purely voluntary basis and are not compensated.
