Adoption Process

The adoption process consists of several steps. First, an application must be completed. Next, a non-refundable adoption fee of $25 is required. After the application is submitted, you will be assigned an adoption counselor who will conduct a phone interview with you. Following this, a home check will be scheduled to ensure a suitable environment for a pet. Once these steps are completed, you can begin searching for your new pet. Upon finding a pet, an adoption fee will be required, which ranges from $175 to $250 depending on the age of the animal. Finally, there will be a follow-up with your adoption counselor to ensure a successful transition.

Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida (LRROF) is a non-profit organization focused on finding loving, permanent homes for Labrador Retrievers. Our team consists of dedicated volunteers and veterinary partners who work tirelessly to place these dogs in suitable environments. Founded in 2000 as a grassroots initiative, LRROF has developed the skills and expertise of its volunteers, making it one of the most successful breed-specific rescue organizations in Florida. LRROF offers foster care, veterinary services, spaying and neutering, and microchipping for the Labradors in our adoption program. Our primary objective is to ensure that each Labrador is placed in an appropriate, permanent home. In the adoption process, we take into account the dog's history, temperament, personality, and energy level. This includes a written application and a home visit for prospective adopters. We are dedicated to creating lifelong matches for all of our adopted Labradors.
