Adoption Process

Adoption Process Thank you for considering adding a furry friend to your family. We are eager to assist you in finding the perfect companion. Our adoption process is straightforward. First, please complete an adoption application. If you have a specific dog in mind, you can indicate their name on the application. If not, don’t worry; we will help you find the right match. However, please note that indicating a dog's name does not guarantee their availability. If multiple applications are submitted for a particular dog, we will select the best fit based on various factors. Once you submit your application, we will send you an email confirming its receipt. A volunteer will then begin processing your application, which includes verifying your information, completing a veterinary reference check, contacting personal references, and conducting a home visit for approval. Common Questions: How long does it take? The average processing time for applications is 1 to 2 weeks. Please keep in mind that our team consists of volunteers. You can help expedite the process by informing your references that they will receive a call from us. Delays often occur while waiting for responses from references. It is also advisable to notify your veterinarian that we will be calling, as some may require your consent to release information. Additionally, please double-check the accuracy of the phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses you provide. Why do you ask so many questions? Many dogs in our care have come to us due to past failures in their previous environments. Our commitment is to find the best match for each dog. For instance, if you are interested in a dog that is fearful of elevators and you live on the 12th floor, that dog may not be suitable for you. With the information we gather, we can help you find other dogs that may be a better fit for your lifestyle. What happens if the dog I want is adopted? If the dog you are interested in is adopted, do not worry. We are committed to helping you find the right match and will assist you in exploring other options that meet your needs. Why should I apply if I don’t see the right dog yet? If you are seeking a highly desirable dog, we recommend getting pre-approved. Dogs that are young (under 3 years old, especially puppies), female, or very small (under 15 pounds) typically attract a lot of interest. If the dog you are looking for falls into one of these categories, getting on the approved list now will allow you to act quickly when a suitable dog becomes available.

Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida, Inc. - P.I.N. Program in Lake Mary, FL

I am pleased to introduce the new identity of Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida, Inc. Our logo, featuring three Boston Terrier heads, represents the core components of our organization: The Rescue Ranch in Georgia, The Senior Centers in Tennessee, and the Pups In Need program (P.I.N.) in Florida. Each component plays a vital role in forming a cohesive Rescue Team dedicated to safeguarding Boston Terriers through advanced technology and compassionate care. The Rescue Ranch serves as a nurturing environment for dogs, functioning as a large foster home that provides outdoor playtime, socialization, activities, veterinary care, and training. It also operates as an emergency shelter, a triage center for incoming dogs, a transport hub, and a space for gatherings, training, and events. The Senior Centers offer a safe and comfortable environment for senior dogs to live out their lives with dignity. They address various medical needs, including maintenance medications and veterinary care for senior and chronically ill Boston Terriers of all ages. Additionally, they provide hospice care for terminally ill dogs, prioritizing comfort and quality of life. The Pups In Need (P.I.N.) Program is a traditional rescue initiative focused on veterinary care, fostering, and adoption. However, it goes deeper by training a growing number of specialized foster caregivers, including a Critical Care Coordinator and partnerships with hospice, training professionals, and other specialized care units. Most of our adoptable dogs will be supported through this program. In our mission to rescue dogs, we focus on saving adoptable dogs, those in medical recovery, special needs dogs, and seniors.
