Adoption Process
The adoption process begins with registering on our website. After registration, you will receive an email containing a password generated by the system. Use your username and this password to log in to the website. Once logged in, you can complete the adoption application for the animal you are interested in. Please note that animals listed for "Sponsorship" are not yet available for adoption. If you wish to adopt an animal currently under sponsorship, you must wait for its status to change to "Available" before submitting your application. You are welcome to sponsor the animal, but please be aware that sponsorship does not guarantee approval for adoption. Each application is assigned to an Adoption Counselor who will review it and follow up with you. Response times may vary from one day to a couple of weeks, depending on the number of applications received for a particular animal. We appreciate your understanding, as our Adoption Counselors are volunteers who also have regular jobs. If you decide to adopt a different animal, there is no need to complete a new application; simply send us an email. Please understand that not all applications will be approved, but we assure you that every decision is made with the best interest of the animal in mind.

A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue in Royal Palm Beach, FL
A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue, established in October 2007, is a fully volunteer-run, foster-based nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status, located in Palm Beach County, Florida. Our dedicated volunteers, including members of the Board of Directors, Foster Caretakers, and Event Staff, contribute their time and expertise purely to assist animals in need. Our mission is straightforward: to save the lives of animals through the hard work and commitment of our volunteers, combined with financial support from individual and corporate donors. Over the past six years, we have successfully rescued more than 5,000 animals and continue to expand, aided by partnerships with local pet supply stores such as PetSmart and PETCO. Every aspect of our operations, from grant writing and fundraising to event planning and animal care, is handled by volunteers who are passionate about saving pets. Many of our volunteers open their homes to foster dogs and cats until they find permanent families. This commitment has established us as one of the largest no-kill rescue organizations operating without a physical shelter. Our efforts in rescuing animals and facilitating adoptions have gained recognition from local media outlets, including The Palm Beach Post, The Wellington Town Crier, and The Observer, which have featured articles highlighting our mission to find homes for homeless pets. To achieve our objective of providing safe and healthy foster environments for rescued animals until they are adopted, we rely on donations to cover essential costs such as food, veterinary care, and other necessary supplies, as well as operational expenses like printing and website hosting. A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue is entirely funded by donations and does not receive government support or grants. We invite you to join us in our mission to save homeless animals and help us make a difference in their lives.
