Adoption process

Requirements: All dogs living in the household must be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention, unless advised otherwise by a veterinarian. All dogs must be kept indoors. While fencing is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged. Process: The adoption process begins with the applicant submitting an application. We review the applications, and if we believe there is a good match, we contact the applicant's veterinarian to confirm that the pets in the home are up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. If everything is in order, we will reach out to the applicant to schedule a meet and greet. We will bring the dog to the applicant's home to ensure it is a safe environment and to verify the information provided in the application. During this visit, we will introduce the dog to any other pets in the home. If both parties feel it is a good fit, and the applicant agrees, we will complete the adoption contract. We may offer trial periods at our discretion. The adoption fee varies for each dog and is detailed on the dog's adoption profile. All animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccinations, treated with antiparasitics, and provided with age-appropriate preventatives at the time of adoption. Medical records will be given to the adopter once the contract is signed.
