Adoption Process

Our adoption process is straightforward yet comprehensive. Step 1: Begin by completing a no-obligation Adoption Application. Step 2: A Viva Los Gatos Adoption Coordinator will review your application and contact you to discuss your preferences in more detail. Step 3: If your application is approved, you will have the opportunity to meet potential adoptable cats, choose the one or more that you would like to adopt, and sign an Adoption Agreement. Please be aware that submitting an application does not constitute a binding agreement to adopt. It is merely part of the process leading to a final decision regarding adoption, which we reserve the right to decline. If an adoption does not work out for any reason, we request that you return the cat to Viva Los Gatos Cat Rescue, regardless of the time that has elapsed. ADOPTION FEES Our adoption fees cover spaying/neutering, testing for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), deworming, and age-appropriate vaccinations. Fees must be paid in full at the time of adoption. The fees are as follows: Kittens up to one year: $100 or two for $165 Cats one year or older: $80

Service Areas

Viva Los Gatos Cat Rescue is available for adoptions to residents of Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga counties in Ohio. Adoptions to residents from other counties will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Viva Los Gatos Cat Rescue is a non-profit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3) that is dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and finding permanent homes for neglected, abandoned, and stray cats and kittens in Northeast Ohio. Our founders bring over 30 years of combined experience in fostering approximately 200 cats and kittens of various ages and abilities. We have served in volunteer roles and leadership positions with other local rescue organizations, collaborating with a wide network of groups and individuals to fulfill our mission. Our committed and skilled volunteers provide a safe and loving environment for our cats until they are adopted. We closely monitor each cat's growth, health, and personality, ensuring they receive essential socialization and medical care, including spaying and neutering, to prepare them for adoption. We are committed to ensuring that no cat is offered for adoption until it is emotionally, socially, and medically ready. We carefully match each cat with potential owners, taking into account age, personality, and the unique traits that each cat possesses to ensure compatibility with a new home. Our ultimate goal is to create lasting bonds that result in happy, loving relationships. For cats that are not adopted, they will always have a home with us. We provide lifelong care and love for our cats to ensure they are never hurt or abandoned again. We invite you to support our mission through a donation.
