Adoption Process

We provide well-trained family pets that are house-trained, crate-trained, car-trained, and leash-trained. These dogs have mastered essential commands such as sit, wait, and load up. All dogs are fully vetted, which includes being spayed or neutered, de-wormed, heartworm tested, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccinations, including the rabies shot. They also receive Heartgard and Frontline preventatives before adoption. An adoption application and contract are required, and while adoption fees may vary slightly, microchip registration is included at no additional cost.

Service Areas

We serve all of New Mexico and the surrounding areas, with a particular focus on Northern New Mexico, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and Santa Fe.

Pet-a-Bulls in Albuquerque, NM

Pet-a-Bulls was established to tackle the homeless pet crisis in New Mexico, where "bully breed" dogs account for at least 40% of the dogs entering state shelters, yet only about 10% find new homes through adoption. Our mission is to lead by example by training and placing well-prepared family pets into carefully selected forever homes that cherish them as valued family members. We aim to showcase the adoptability of these breeds to the state's shelters and the public, thereby encouraging a significant increase in adoptions directly from these shelters. While we primarily focus on American Staffordshire Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Bull Terriers, American Bulldogs, various Mastiff breeds, and other bully breeds, we also accept other dog breeds as resources permit. We utilize the internet, mobile adoptions, PetSmart adoption events, and other venues to help place these pets into loving, permanent homes.
