Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the completion of an adoption application and agreement. There is a $100 adoption fee, which is reduced to $50 for special needs cats or for those adopting multiple cats. All adopted cats must be kept in indoor-only homes.

SAFARI - Stray and Feral Animal Rescue Initiative in DeKalb, IL

We are a small, volunteer-driven organization operating from our homes. Our mission is to address the significant issue of feral cats in DeKalb. We implement a comprehensive approach that includes trapping, spaying or neutering, vaccinating, deworming, and testing for FIV and feline leukemia. After surgery, all cats are monitored during recovery before being returned to their original locations. We prioritize the stability of the colonies and only relocate cats if their habitat is threatened or the colony is at risk. Our efforts include providing food and managing veterinary care for the colonies.
