Windy Ridge Rescue in Dalzell, SC

We support residents in managing feral cat colonies in the area through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts to minimize the euthanasia of homeless cats. Our organization provides education on the importance of spaying and neutering and offers assistance with these procedures. We accept accidental litters and family pets for rehoming to prevent them from being surrendered to high-kill shelters. Additionally, we rescue animals from high-kill shelters. All rescued animals are spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, and provided with heartworm and flea prevention. Many of our rescues are transported to no-kill shelters in Vermont and New York, where there is a high demand for adoptions. Our mission is to prevent the unnecessary deaths of homeless pets in our community.

Adoption process

To initiate the adoption process, please complete an application that includes veterinary and personal references, as well as your pet ownership history. A veterinary reference and a home visit are mandatory. Additionally, a meet-and-greet with all household pets of the same species is required. Adoption fees are negotiable based on the medical care costs incurred by the pet while in our care.

Service area: We serve Sumter and Kershaw Counties in South Carolina, including the cities of Sumter, Camden, Elgin, Lugoff, and Dalzell.
