Adoption Process

The adoption process includes submitting an application, participating in a phone interview, and undergoing a home visit. You will then have the opportunity to meet the dogs we believe would be a good match for your family. If you choose to foster, a foster contract, which leads to adoption, will be required. An adoption contract will be finalized once the process is complete. The fees for adoption are as follows: puppies are $350, plus a $100 spay/neuter deposit, which requires a copy of the invoice to be provided; otherwise, the dog may be reclaimed. For adult dogs aged six months to senior, the fee is $300, while the fee for senior dogs is $150.

Service Areas

The service areas include Summerville, South Carolina, and Wilmington, North Carolina.

Grand Strand Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc. in Murrells Inlet, SC

Grand Strand Golden Retriever Rescue (GSGRR) is a dedicated group of volunteers based in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and place Golden Retrievers in loving homes where they will receive care for their entire lives. With over 20 years of experience, our volunteers are passionate about this delightful breed. When a Golden Retriever joins our program, it undergoes a thorough veterinary examination to address its medical needs. Following this, the dog is placed in a caring foster home until a permanent family is found. During this period, the foster family evaluates the dog's personality to ensure a suitable match with its future home. Before adoption, each Golden Retriever is vaccinated, spayed or neutered, tested and treated for heartworms, and microchipped. Prospective adopters are required to complete an application and undergo a home visit. We will also verify the care of any current or previous pets with your veterinarian and confirm that any pets in your home have been spayed or neutered. Our volunteers are dedicated to the well-being of our Goldens and advocate for the humane treatment of all animals. We promote responsible pet ownership in the community through education on the importance of spaying and neutering.
