Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the completion of an application. This process may involve home visits and obtaining references from veterinarians. If the application is approved, the adopter will sign a contract that outlines their responsibilities, which includes the requirement to contact us first if they ever need to give up the animal for any reason. Adoption fees are determined on an individual basis, reflecting the costs incurred for each animal's care. In many cases, the amount spent exceeds what potential adopters can afford, so we often adjust the fee to accommodate them. We have generally not requested more than $125, despite having invested over $500 in the care of some animals.

Although another organization offers spay and neuter certificates, the demand for assistance is so great that the founder chose to establish an incorporated organization to increase the number of animals she can help.
