Adoption Process

Our adoption fees begin at $175.00, which includes spaying or neutering, vaccinations, a microchip, a heartworm test, and starter prevention. The application process involves a home visit and a veterinary reference check. Adopters are required to sign a contract and may return the dog to us at any time if the adoption does not work out.

The Canine Compassion Fund, Inc. (CCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. CCF was established to address specific challenges stemming from canine overpopulation. Through extensive research, several critical areas requiring immediate and long-term attention were identified, leading to the development of the following mission statement: The mission of the Canine Compassion Fund, Inc. is to provide lifelong care and enrichment for surrendered or abandoned senior dogs in a specialized facility and through a "forever foster" program. Additionally, CCF aims to reduce the population of homeless canines through adoption and spay/neuter programs, as well as to promote responsible pet ownership education to the public.
