About this shelter

Humane Society Of West Al in Northport, AL

The Humane Society of West Alabama is a no-kill, volunteer-run, cage-free adoption center located about 2 miles south of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Founded in 1971, it has spent over 50 years bringing cats and dogs together with adoptive families across Tuscaloosa County. The organization operates with no administrative fees and receives zero government funding, relying entirely on donor support to provide shelter, medical care, food, and love to the animals in its care. Beyond adoptions, it offers financial assistance for veterinary care to help keep pets with their families and prevent unnecessary surrenders to local shelters.
