Adoption Process

Two by Two Rescue mandates that adopters must be at least 21 years old, sign an adoption contract, and pay an adoption fee for each animal. The adoption fee may vary based on the specific circumstances of the animal.

Service Areas

We primarily serve the Birmingham, Alabama area, which includes the cities of Helena, Pelham, Alabaster, Hoover, Vestavia, Bessemer, and Montevallo. Our service extends to Shelby, Jefferson, and St. Clair counties as well.

Two by Two Animal Rescue in Helena, AL

Two by Two Animal Rescue was established in 2002 when Sonya Smith started feeding stray animals in Old Town Helena. Our mission is to save the lives of unwanted, abused, and abandoned animals. We provide care for these rescues in foster homes until they can be placed in permanent homes, while also educating the public about responsible pet ownership. All our animals are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. We provide treatment to all animals, regardless of their age, breed, or medical needs.
