Lee Shore Rescue, Inc in Spindale, NC
Lee Shore is a collective of women dedicated to animal welfare. Founded in 2017 by Paulina Putnam and Alison Shanahan, both of whom have extensive experience in rescue work, the organization was established to address the needs of animals that are not immediately adoptable. These animals may be pregnant, too young, or require physical or psychological rehabilitation. Paulina and Alison bring unique skills to the collective; Paulina has successfully rehabilitated numerous dogs that others deemed beyond help, while Alison is particularly passionate about caring for mothers and their puppies. Lee Shore was created with the specific aim of providing care for rehabilitation, maternity, and pediatric cases—animals that are not yet ready for adoption but can thrive as companions with appropriate support. Our mission remains focused on this goal. In the three years since our inception, we have saved over four hundred animals and are committed to continuing our efforts on behalf of those without a voice.

Adopting from Lee Shore Rescue, Inc
Adoption process
Interested applicants can complete an adoption application at LeeShoreRescue.com/apply.html. We verify veterinary and personal references, as well as assess the applicant's plans for the animal's care. Once approved, applicants are required to pay the applicable fee and sign an adoption contract. This contract mandates that the animal must be spayed or neutered within six months of adoption if it has not already undergone the procedure. We offer spay/neuter services for animals aged four to six months or older. Additionally, the contract stipulates that adopters must inform us if the pet goes missing or if they can no longer keep the pet, allowing us to assist in ensuring its safety. Adopters also agree to be responsible pet owners; failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of all rights to the pet, which will then revert to Lee Shore Rescue.
