Adoption Process

The adoption application process involves several key steps. First, applicants must complete an Adoption Application Questionnaire, which includes a veterinary reference check for current or previous family pets, two personal reference checks, and a landlord reference check if applicable. Once the application is approved, the following steps are conducted by FCCR: a meet-and-greet session on neutral territory between the foster dog and the adoptive family, as well as their current pets if they have any; a home visit with the adoptive family; and the signing of a 10-day Trial Period Adoption Agreement. After the initial trial period, a formal Adoption Contract will be signed. FCCR also requires a $165 adoption fee, which covers costs including vaccinations up to the adoption date, spay or neuter surgery along with pain medication, and a microchip for the pet.

Faithful Companion Canine Rescue (FCCR), Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs in the Charlotte, NC area. Through the efforts of dedicated volunteers, FCCR places these dogs in temporary foster homes until they can be adopted into permanent homes. During their time in foster care, the dogs receive love, attention, training, and medical care to help them regain their emotional and physical health.
