Adoption Process

The adoption process includes several steps: submitting an application, completing a veterinary check, providing personal references, conducting a phone interview, and scheduling a home visit. Adopters are required to sign a contract that allows us to check on the animal at any time. If the adopter can no longer care for the animal, it must be returned to us. Additionally, the animal must live indoors as part of the family. While a fence is required, exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.

Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love in Huntersville, NC

Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love was established by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to rescuing Great Danes and other dogs, particularly those with special needs that may be overlooked by other rescue organizations. We operate as an extension of Ruff Love Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Thomasville, North Carolina. Great Dane Friends assists individuals in several ways: - Identifying the right breed that suits their lifestyle. - Locating healthy and compatible dogs that meet their preferences and needs. - Finding new homes for dogs whose families can no longer care for them. - Providing essential medical care to restore the health of the rescued Danes.
