Who We Are: We are a dedicated group of volunteers in Jackson County, Mississippi, committed to saving the lives of animals at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Our organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, incorporated in the state of Mississippi. Mission Statement: Our mission is to support the Jackson County Animal Shelter by providing funds, food, supplies, and improvements to the shelter. We aim to help the shelter secure loving, reliable adoptive families for animals through social networking, transportation to other states, and local adoption events. Additionally, we strive to educate the public on the importance of spay and neuter laws, animal protection laws, and responsible pet ownership. How You Can Help: We are always in need of responsible foster families, as we cannot rescue animals from the local shelter without safe, reliable homes for them to receive training, medications, and care during spay and neuter procedures and quarantine for transport. We collaborate with local and out-of-state rescue organizations to maximize our efforts in fostering, adopting, and transporting animals. Financial support is crucial for covering the costs of supplies, veterinary care, medications, shelter pull fees, and subsidizing transportation to other states. Our future projects include potential upgrades to the shelter to help reduce disease spread, increase animal capacity, and lower euthanasia rates. We are also exploring ways to implement and fund low-cost spay and neuter programs, microchipping, an adoption sponsorship fund, and other life-saving initiatives.
