Gateway 4 Paws is an animal shelter located in Maryville, Illinois, in Madison County, roughly 15 miles southwest of St. Louis, MO, and one of 17 other animal shelters or rescues based in Madison County, IL. It is a nonprofit, all-volunteer, foster-based small breed dog rescue with fosters in Illinois and Missouri, founded in 2012. It operates as a no-kill organization dedicated to rescuing small breed dogs from breeders, auctions, shelters, animal control, and owner surrenders, rehabilitating and rehoming them, and to date has placed more than 2,000 dogs with forever families. All proceeds go directly to the care of the animals in its program.
