Southern Pines Animal Shelter is an open-admission, no-kill shelter serving Hattiesburg, Mississippi, located about 3 miles southeast of the city in Forrest County, which is also home to one other animal shelter or rescue. Its mission is to provide humane shelter for pets in need, offer affordable spay/neuter and healthy pet services, encourage adoptions, and educate the community about responsible pet ownership. The shelter cares for adoptable cats and dogs, relies heavily on volunteers and foster homes for animals ranging from tiny kittens to senior dogs, and runs a Healthy Pet Clinic as part of its veterinary care services. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, and Sunday from 1:00PM to 5:00PM.
