Formed in 2007 as a 501c3 nonprofit, the group is dedicated to protecting Vizslas that have been abandoned or abused, and it extends support to humane shelters and other rescue organizations handling stray or surrendered Vizslas across Colorado, Wyoming, western Kansas, western Nebraska, and New Mexico. The all-volunteer, donation-based rescue saves an estimated 45-65 Vizslas each year and has re-homed more than 1,000 dogs since the late 1990s, covering costs like veterinary care, foster home expenses, and transport. It does not shy away from sick or injured dogs, and its work is guided by the motto "Saving Lives, One Vizsla at a Time."

Adoption process

Prospective adopters must complete an adoption application and go through an approval process; dogs must be spayed/neutered before going to their new home, and a minimum adoption donation is requested ($375 for puppies to 18 months, $325 for dogs 18 months–10 years, $225 for dogs 10+ years).
