Lander Pet Connection is a 501(c)(3) animal shelter in Lander, Wyoming, located in Fremont County, where four other animal shelters or rescues also operate; it sits about 90 miles south of Rock Springs, WY. Founded in 1996 by Syd Miller as an independent rescue originally called the "Dare to Care Animal League," it later evolved into Lander Pet Connection and now serves dogs and cats through adoption, fostering, and community outreach across Fremont County. Its mission is to end pet homelessness and preventable euthanasia through high-impact sheltering, medical access, and community education, with programs including a foster network, a mobile pet food pantry, and crisis and disaster readiness support. Adopters go through a four-step process—apply, match, meet, and bring the pet home—and the shelter is located at 120 Chittim Road in Lander, open Wednesday through Saturday afternoons.

Applicants fill out an online adoption questionnaire, a team member contacts them to discuss the best fit, they visit the shelter to meet the pet, and then bring a leash, collar, or carrier to take the pet home.
