The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, Inc. (HAWS) is a humane society located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, about 20 miles east of Milwaukee, in Waukesha County, where it is one of seven animal shelters and rescues serving the area. HAWS leads the community in animal welfare and assures sanctuary for animals in need, offering behavior and training classes led by certified instructors, a humane education department with programs for all ages, and a SNIP Clinic providing spay-neuter and other surgical procedures for shelter and community animals. The organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based at 701 Northview Road, also runs extensive volunteer opportunities and hosts or attends more than 160 community events each year in pursuit of its mission to ensure animals and people are treated with respect.
