Organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the name C.A.R.E., its mission is to advocate for exotic birds, educate the public about their needs, provide permanent sanctuary housing for birds unable to live in a typical home, and find loving, responsible adoptive homes for adoptable birds. The organization relies solely on private donations and supplements its income through a retail shop selling bird toys, cages, perches, playstands, food, and other bird-related items, with all proceeds going back into its programs. Its services include housing for unwanted birds, sanctuary care, veterinary treatment, adoption and behavioral counseling, and bird boarding and grooming, guided by its philosophy of "Education Before Adoption."
