Adoption process
Adoption Process: Step by Step Guide The adoption fee is $500. 1. Review the adoption requirements to ensure you meet the necessary criteria before applying. 2. Complete and submit the adoption application along with all required documents. 3. We will conduct a thorough background check, landlord approval (if applicable), home ownership verification, veterinary reference check, and application review. This process may take up to five business days. - If you are renting, please request a letter of approval from your landlord to have a dog, which can be sent to [email protected] or submitted with your application. - Please contact your veterinarian to authorize the release of your pet's medical information to us. 4. Once the application is processed, approved applicants will be notified by phone and email. 5. Following approval, you will have the opportunity for a meet and greet and to bring your dog home. A five-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period will allow you to assess the fit. 6. At the conclusion of the FTA period, please inform us of your final decision to adopt or to return the dog to our rescue. 7. After the adoption process, we will conduct a home visit, either in person or via a Zoom meeting, to ensure the transition is smooth and to address any final questions you may have. 8. For puppies adopted before six months of age and not yet neutered or spayed, we will assist you in coordinating an appointment with one of our veterinary partners or you may use your own veterinarian, and we will provide a partial reimbursement of the adoption fee. Please note that adoptions are not finalized until the dog is neutered or spayed, if applicable.
