Adoption Process

Potential adopters must complete an application form. Upon approval, they will be required to sign an adoption agreement. Renters must obtain approval from their landlord. The adoption fees are as follows: $95 for kittens up to one year old, $150 for adopting two kittens together, $75 for cats aged one to four years, and $50 for cats five years and older.

Angels With Paws in Lakewood, CO

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) Public Charity that operates a limited intake, primarily cage-free rescue and shelter. Founded in 2003 by a group of compassionate individuals, our organization was established to address the plight of adoptable animals that require additional care and attention, yet are often euthanized or turned away by other shelters. Since our inception, we have successfully rescued, sheltered, and provided veterinary care for nearly 7,000 animals, predominantly cats and kittens, and a small number of dogs through our foster program. This achievement is particularly remarkable given our limited resources, minimal marketing efforts, and the small size of our facility, which is a converted fast-food restaurant in need of ongoing repairs. We rely primarily on donations and adoption fees for funding, as we do not receive government support or funding from any agencies, corporations, or groups. Serving the Greater Metro area, including Fort Collins, Longmont, and Loveland, Angels with Paws takes in unwanted and homeless animals, many of whom have injuries, illnesses, disabilities, special needs, or are older adults over the age of six. Most of these animals have faced neglect, abandonment, or abuse and would have been euthanized or rejected by other shelters. We provide them with veterinary care, food, litter, and a safe place to live until they are adopted. Additionally, we focus on promoting responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and raising awareness about the cruelty of declawing.
