Benton-Franklin Humane Society is a private, non-profit humane society located in the Tri-Cities, Washington, in Franklin County, roughly 130 miles northeast of Spokane, with one other animal shelter or rescue also located in Franklin County. Established in 1966, the organization operates an adoption center in Kennewick and receives no government funding, relying instead on donors and volunteers to support the animals in its care. Its mission is to promote exceptional pet ownership and place animals in loving, forever homes, advocating for humane treatment through adoption, counseling, educational outreach, and community services. Guided by compassion and respect, BFHS works to create what it describes as a model humane community.
