About this shelter
Mosby Foundation in Deerfield, VA
The Mosby Foundation is located in Deerfield, Virginia, within Augusta County, where it is one of six animal shelters and rescues serving the area, and it sits roughly 110 miles north of Morgantown, WV. Helping dogs since 2004, the organization provides financial aid to qualified limited-income pet parents facing unforeseen veterinary emergencies, covering needs such as critical medical care, cancer treatment, senior dog care, heart health, and spay/neuter services. Rather than operating as a traditional adoption shelter, its mission centers on keeping dogs with the families who love them by easing the financial burden of costly veterinary care. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by individual donors and corporate sponsors, including Petco Foundation and Best Friends.
