About this shelter

Caring for Creatures Foundation in Palmyra, VA

Caring for Creatures Foundation is a no-kill animal sanctuary in Palmyra, Virginia, located in Fluvanna County, about 50 miles east of Richmond. Situated on 157 acres in central Virginia, it provides a safe refuge for dogs and cats that have nowhere else to go, offering lifetime care and companionship to animals not selected for adoption rather than releasing them back to uncertain circumstances. Four other animal shelters or rescues also serve Fluvanna County. The organization relies on donations, sponsors, and volunteers to support animals who have experienced neglect, abandonment, loss of their home or human, or the threat of euthanasia.
