About this shelter
Bath Animal Welfare Foundation in Hot Springs, VA
Bath Animal Welfare Foundation is an animal shelter located in Hot Springs, Virginia, within Bath County, where one other animal shelter or rescue also operates and the community sits about 100 miles west of Charleston, WV. Run entirely by unpaid volunteers and supported solely by donations and fundraisers, BAWF's mission is to rescue homeless, neglected, sick, and injured dogs and cats in Bath County, providing homes for adoptable animals from the Bath County Animal Shelter as well as owner-relinquished pets. Rescued animals receive spay/neuter procedures, vaccines, heartworm and tick-borne disease testing, worming, and micro-chipping, and prospective adopters are screened through background checks, references, and a home visit. Beyond adoption, BAWF gives back to the community by offering free spay/neuter procedures to pet owners in need and providing dog and cat food to Meals on Wheels recipients.
