The Humane Society of Northern Utah is a humane society based in Ogden, Utah, located in Weber County, roughly 35 miles south of Salt Lake City, where it is one of six such shelters and rescues serving the county. Founded in 2008 under the name Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, the organization grew and broadened its mission over time, becoming the Humane Society of Northern Utah, now operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It is a small, volunteer-run pet rescue dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals and alleviating their fear, pain, and suffering through public education, adoption, and advocacy, helping thousands of animals find homes each year.
