Denton Animal Services in Denton, TX

The City of Denton Animal Shelter serves as a temporary refuge for lost, unwanted, and stray animals. Operating under the Denton Police Department, the Animal Services Unit employs full-time officers who assist citizens in caring for their pets in various ways. We accommodate a diverse range of animals, including newborn kittens and potbelly pigs, and we take in animals from unincorporated Denton County as well as several surrounding municipalities. Our primary objectives are to provide humane care for the animals in our custody, facilitate adoptions to individuals, support transfers to rescue organizations, and, when necessary, carry out humane euthanasia.
