Romania Animal Rescue, Inc. is a rescue organization based in Livermore, California, in Alameda County, roughly 25 miles south of San Jose, and shares Alameda County with 26 other animal shelters and rescues. Since 2003, doing business as Animal Spay/Neuter INT'L, the organization has worked to reduce Romania's homeless dog and cat population, performing over 157,948 spay/neuter surgeries through a multi-faceted approach centered on spay/neuter, animal care, veterinary training, and education. In 2017 it launched the Center of Hope, the first multi-functional veterinary hospital of its kind in Romania, which has grown from six employees to more than twenty-three and provides medical care and spay/neuter services to stray, abandoned, and owned animals alike. Its stated vision is a world where every dog and cat has a loving home, free from abandonment and neglect.
