Save a Sato Foundation is an animal shelter located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, within San Juan Municipio. For thirty years the organization has rescued more than 100,000 homeless and abused dogs and cats from the streets and beaches of Puerto Rico, known locally as "satos." It provides medical care, food, shelter, and love at its Shelter of Miracles for dogs and Gatolandia for cats, run by volunteers, students, neighbors, and veterinarians, before sending healthy animals to partner shelters for adoption into loving homes. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with no government funding, it relies entirely on donations, with 100% of contributions going directly to the animals.
