Persian & Himalayan Cat Rescue is a cat rescue based in Mill Valley, California, in Marin County, roughly 9 miles southeast of San Francisco, and one of 7 animal shelters and rescues serving Marin County. Since 1990, this dedicated group of volunteers has worked to rescue and re-home Persian cats from shelters, vets, and owners needing help placing their pets, and has also welcomed other breeds, such as Himalayans and the occasional Scottish Fold, into its care. The rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that requires adopted cats to live indoors only and prohibits declawing. It operates throughout Northern California, does not ship cats, and relies on volunteers and donations to support its adoption program.
