CatWorks, Inc. is a cat rescue based in Reading, Pennsylvania, located in Berks County, where 8 other animal shelters and rescues also operate; the organization is situated approximately 7 miles south of Reading. Founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, CatWorks began by rescuing abandoned, feral, and orphaned cats and kittens, then expanded in 2006 to include dogs and puppies, later obtaining a Pennsylvania kennel license in 2014. All cats and kittens in their care are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV/FeLV, treated for fleas, wormed, and vaccinated before adoption. As a small, all-foster-based rescue with no central shelter facility, CatWorks relies on volunteer foster families and maintains an adoption center at the Petco in Wyomissing, PA, and is a member of the Rally to Rescue™ program in partnership with Purina Pro Plan.
