Sanctuary One is a nonprofit animal shelter located in Jacksonville, Oregon, in Jackson County, roughly 140 miles north of Eugene. Situated on 55 acres in the Applegate Valley, it was established in 2007 as the West Coast's first care farm, providing a safe home to rescued farm animals and house pets, including dogs, cats, cows, goats, sheep, llamas, alpacas, pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, horses, ponies, and donkeys. The organization works with area shelters, rescues, and law-enforcement agencies to take in animals for personalized care, rehabilitation, and retirement, alongside a permaculture-inspired garden that grows food for both people and animals. It is one of nine animal shelters and rescues serving Jackson County, Oregon.
