Rogue Valley Humane Society in Grants Pass, OR
Rogue Valley Humane Society is a no-kill, not-for-profit shelter in Grants Pass, Oregon, serving the Rogue Valley region of Josephine County, with 8 other animal shelters and rescues also based in the county. Operating for over 55 years and receiving no federal, state, county, or city funding, RVHS relies on donors, grants, and its thrift store to fund a broad range of services, including a spay/neuter clinic, a part-time staff veterinarian, an emergency response team, a pet food bank, and a humane education program. It is one of only two facilities in Oregon with a neonate kitten nursery, and its in-house clinic, added in 2018, now alters more than 1,200 animals a year, a quarter of them community cats. Located about 110 miles north of Eugene, the shelter also runs a Kitty Quick Fix spay/neuter voucher program and an AniMeals program supporting local pet owners in need.
