Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA) is an animal shelter based in Hillsboro, Oregon, in Washington County, where 10 other animal shelters and rescues are also located. Positioned about 4 miles north of Hillsboro, OFOSA has saved 21,200 homeless pets since 2002 by rescuing dogs from overcrowded shelters, accepting surrendered and abandoned dogs and cats, spaying or neutering every animal in its care, and running trap-neuter-release efforts for stray and colony cats. The organization also provides rescue and care for injured and sick kittens and cats from colonies, and most of its animals live in foster homes while awaiting adoption into forever families.
