Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA) is an animal shelter based in Hillsboro, Oregon, in Washington County, where 10 other animal shelters and rescues are also located; it sits roughly 4 miles north of Hillsboro. Since 2002, OFOSA has saved over 21,200 homeless pets by rescuing dogs from overcrowded shelters and accepting surrendered and abandoned dogs and cats. The organization spays or neuters every animal in its care, participates in Trap-Neuter-Release efforts for stray and colony cats, provides rescue and care to injured and sick kittens and cats from colonies, and works to find forever loving homes for all its animals through adoption. Most of its dogs and cats are currently living in foster homes while awaiting adoption.
