Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary is an animal shelter located in Salem, Oregon, in Polk County, about 8 miles south of Salem, with one other animal shelter or rescue also based in Polk County. The sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) organization spanning 54 acres, celebrating 20 years of rescuing, rehabilitating, and, when appropriate, rehoming abused and neglected farmed animals. As the largest farm animal rescue in Oregon, it is home to over 250 animals, including pigs, cows, horses, chickens, sheep, and goats. Through fostering meaningful relationships between people and the animals in its care, Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary works to shed light on the realities of animal agriculture and promote a more compassionate world.
